Valentine's Day in the City

This will be a longer post and pretty much a big photo dump.. B and I had a great time and I took bunches of pics.

Originally I told B that it was fine if we didn't do anything much since this would be Valentine's Day numero 9 for us.. But I swear, he's such a closet romantic.  He refused to tell me anything he had planned other than I might want to bring a warm coat and whatnot.

I was finishing up getting ready when he presented me with a beautiful bouquet.  The man knows I'm not a big roses girl, so I loved this arrangement.

He also gave me a card, a box of chocolates, red Swedish Fish (my faves) and $150 to go clothes shopping. :)  After the gifts we hailed a cab and headed out.  I, of course, snapped a few pics in the cab as I am wont to do.

We arrived at Rockefeller Center, which is always beautiful.  B led me up to Pulse, a restaurant that overlooks the ice rink at Rockefeller.  It was voted one of the 10 most romantic restaurants in the city.. And I definitely think it deserves the title.  It was gorgeous and the food was ahhh-mazing.

We bought a bottle of wine which (go figure) was from Washington.  I move across the country to enjoy NYC life and I end up drinking a bottle of wine from home.  :)  At least it was delish and gave me what I like to call "Wine Bottle Philosophy"  Observe:

(Reads as follows
next: 2008 washington riesling
next: is a statement
next: is a question
next: reminds us that
we always stand
at a crossroads.
that we are all poets,
all philosophers,
the makers and keepers
of our own dreams,
that we bring wine to our friends
that we might share both
wine and words together,
folded into a moment
on the edge of the next.)

How's that for a beautiful thought to carry you thru VDay and the rest of February?  I thought it a wonderful sentiment.

After dinner came the dessert and the complimentary champagne.  The waiters were great and they really liked us so they kept sneaking us refills.  We would have complained but the man and I are complete lushes.
(coming soon)

After dessert we bundled up and B led me across the street to enjoy in some romantic night skating.  We skated around the rink, held hands and listened to 80s music with all the other couples.  Around midnight we called it good and hailed a cab back home.

Haha.. A little tired around midnight!

You don't need to hear any details about all that tho.  ;)

Hope your VDay was as nice as mine was.

Much love to all of you out there.

XOXO

Back in action.

Ahh.. Finally feeling back to my old self, minus a few lingering sniffles but that's to be expected.  I've never been one of those people that's rebounded quickly after illnesses.  I'm a slow healer.  It sucks, but what're gonna do.

First place B and I went out to eat?  I'm almost ashamed to say..

Ok, here it is:

I know, right?  Pretty awful, especially living in one of the most restaurant-dense city in the US.

Sometimes it's just hard beating these

And this

I am still hanging my head in shame, but dammit.. It's just so tasty!

Oh!  I also went to the Chelsea club after work the other night to check it out.  My boss at the Bistro also own the club.  It's a great little area, and being the boss's guest meant no lines, no waiting for drinks and access to the VIP.

Always a great time.

On another note, I've started a new script for my Scene Study class called Living in Oblivion by Tom DiCillo.  The script is hilarious and was a lot of fun to read.

If you're ever bored and feel like having a quick read, scripts are great.  Many can be found online for free (like at Drew's www.script-o-rama.com) and are a lot of fun to look thru and compare to how your favorite movies turned out (or didn't).

So, those were my little contributions to the blogging world.  And thanks to my newly restored health, my posts can return to a semi-regular basis.

I hope.

Death, run over twice.

My title pretty much sums up how I've been feeling the past few days.. Total and utter crap.

Slowly, one by one, my classmates fell sick with an awful cold.  One of them even developed pneumonia.  And I was helpless against it.. The sickness finally caught up to me a couple days ago and kicked my ass so hard I've been begging for mercy.

This blows.  I hate being sick.

In other news, classes and work have been going well.  The Bistro (my workplace) closed the other night for a private party.  A live salsa band was hired to play and every member of the band was blind.  And they were awesome.

The party was supposed to have about 60 attendees.  About twice that showed up.  It was so crowded people could barely stand, let alone salsa dance.

I got pics and I need to upload them, as soon as I get out of bed.  Sometime soon.

I hope.

Ugh.
